About the workshop
This workshop is an in-depth guide to using Mergin Maps for field geospatial data collection, enabling participants to set up and deploy QGIS projects for offline data capture and cloud-based syncing.
What we'll cover
This workshop covers essential aspects of mobile data collection with Mergin Maps, including:
- setting up a QGIS project with offline base maps and photo capture capabilities
- creating field-friendly data forms with dropdown lists, constraints, and real-time validation
- hands-on practice outdoors to capture field data
- syncing data to a central cloud location for easy collaboration
Who should attend
This workshop is suitable for anyone interested in capturing, managing, and syncing geospatial data in the field, including geologists, archaeologists, Aboriginal Rangers, GIS professionals, and others working in mining, heritage, environmental studies, or exploration projects.
Certification
Mammoth Geospatial is an accredited QGIS Certifying Organisation. Workshop participants have the option of receiving an official QGIS certificate on completion, which provides a mechanism to financially support the QGIS project.

What to bring
- A laptop with a recent version of QGIS
- A mouse with a scroll wheel is recommended
- An IOS or Android mobile phone

We accept cancellations up to 7 days before the workshop. Cancellations may incur a 10% processing fee to cover non-refundable ticketing platform fees.
