Supporting GIS and Fieldwork

Yilka Aboriginal Corporation

Yilka is an Aboriginal Corporation based in Western Australia, supporting the natural and cultural resource management of the Yilka Native Title group. We provide ongoing GIS support to Yilka, covering everything from managing their spatial data and PostGIS database, to preparing maps and supporting fieldwork.

We set up Yilka's PostGIS database and continue to manage it, providing a central place for their spatial data. QGIS is used for day-to-day GIS work, with Mergin Maps supporting field data collection.

The work covers the full fieldwork cycle. Before surveys, spatial data is prepared, projects are set up and maps are produced for the field team. During fieldwork, GIS and field data workflows can be supported as needed. Afterwards, survey data is brought back into the GIS, cleaned up and organised, with maps and datasets produced for further use.

Alongside this, Mammoth provides general GIS support as needs arise, including data cleansing, data preparation, map production and day-to-day GIS work.
