Mammoth Geospatial has been the brainchild of directors John Bryant and Cholena Smart since 2007, with the company officially incorporating in 2019.
As seasoned geospatial professionals, we once took a relatively software-agnostic approach, using proprietary software alongside open source GIS. But around 2015, inspired by rapid innovation, the vibrant open source GIS ecosystem, and our philosophical alignment with open principles, we went all in.
Today, John & Cholena work with a team of talented professionals with deep expertise in using, implementing, and teaching QGIS, PostGIS, and other enterprise-grade open source software.

We don't just use open source — we live it! We're proud to contribute to the sustainability of open source by ensuring the community has opportunities to meet, exchange ideas, and build a strong network.
We support our local open geospatial community through our efforts in organising community groups like Geogeeks and QGIS AU, and organising and participating in events like FOSS4G Perth and FOSS4G SotM Oceania.
On a global scale, by engaging with and supporting the international open geospatial community, online and at events like FOSS4G and the QGIS User Conference, we keep ourselves up-to-date and connected to the latest developments.
